The Adeline
Brought to you by Related Midwest and the Ann Arbor Housing Commission, The Adeline is a new 20-story residential community bringing 330 affordable residences to the heart of downtown Ann Arbor. The community places residents steps from transit, bike connections, shopping and dining.
Designed by SmithGroup, The Adeline will offer one- and two-bedroom apartments with contemporary finishes and in-home laundry, complemented by a collection of resident amenities including a lounge, fitness center, bike storage, and more.
The waitlists are anticipated to open in Spring 2028.
Honoring a Legacy.
The Adeline takes its name from Robert and Adeline Thompson, who in 1964 opened DeLong's Bar-B-Q Pit in a converted gas station at 314 Detroit St., across from Ann Arbor's Farmers' Market. The restaurant, one of the city's historic Black-owned businesses, was a fixture of the local culinary scene for 37 years and drew visits from blues great B.B. King and boxing champion Joe Frazier. Naming the building after Adeline Thompson carries that legacy forward.
